Our company “Ta Mpatzanakia” is now 30 years old! It all started when in May 1989, two families decided to unite their dreams, their ambitions and engage in a completely pioneering venture for the city of Volos, that of frozen food trade and distribution. Two sisters and their spouses, hence the meaning of the word ‘Ta Mpatzanakia’, founded the company V. Panou – M. Christodoulopoulos OE and the project became of extreme family value, based on love and care.
The first step includes the establishment of the company with a retail/wholesale store in the area of Nea Ionia. Our aim back then was to supply restaurants and fast food shops, as well as to help boost the local retail sales of frozen foods in the area.
Having as principles the ethos, respect for the consumer and a continued interest in the market developments, our family business has achieved a following steady upward path over the years, building solid foundations in the local market’s reality.
In 2000, the company’s headquarters are relocated in Neapoli, Volos. The company expands while having the creation of new private owned storage facilities with refrigerators, as well as an optimally organized distribution network. New facts have as a result a rapid product delivery net, which helps us meet the consumers’ needs throughout the region of Magnesia.
2007 and 2012, two significant years, that mark a new era for the company. The evolution of time and facts brings the business into the hands of the family’s offspring. Having being raised in the environment of the business, they gained all the love, care and knowledge needed. So along with the support of the elders ready they were to take over.
So 2019 we are launching a dynamic venture for the data of the region, setting new goals in the development of the company, with the creation of new state-of-the-art privately owned facilities in the Industrial Area of Volos, with the total area of 3.000 m2 (covered spaces 1.500 m2).
With respect towards the needs of consumers, the company trades products of high quality and nutritional value. As legally expected we are also operating in accordance with ISO 22000: 2005 system rules. Having all the high technological equipment as well as highly trained staff, it is a fact that we process goods directly from producers to consumers transmitting our love and responsibility.
Our purpose now is to activate not only in the trade and distribution fields of food, but also in the dynamic areas of Import, Process, Standardization and Packaging, always fulfilling the necessary requirements.
In 2019 we are celebrating our 30 years anniversary with a decisive change, which is here to give new direction and impetus to the character of our company. The existing distinctive title “Mpatzanakia”, which has supported the history of our company and its evolution over the last 30 years, gives the baton to a new corporate identity, “GAIA frozen food”. We look to the future with optimism, always respecting your demands and expectations.
